Breakout Session 1 – Communicating the Value Proposition of Legal Masters Degrees
March 3 | 1:30 pm - 2:50 pm
Barbara Boehler, Senior Director, Program on Corporate Compliance and Ethics, Fordham School of Law
Kait Johnstone Pawlicky, Assistant Director, Outreach Specialist, University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School
Adrian Phung, Integrated Marketing Manager, University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School
Legal masters programs continue to grow nationwide, yet many prospective students still struggle to understand the degreeās value in relation to their careers, industries, and long-term professional goals. This panel examines how programs communicate the value proposition of legal masters degrees to non-lawyer professionals through economic framing, employment mobility, and skills-based outcomes. Panelists may share best practices, challenges, insights on labor market demand, alumni career trajectories, and the practical competencies that legal literacy provides across fields such as healthcare, compliance, HR, technology, and government. Attendees will gain messaging strategies and tools to more clearly and succinctly articulate the real-world impact and return on investment of legal masters education for marketing purposes as well as to strengthen the admissions pipeline.
